Katie Gorka is currently serving as Senior Advisor for Policy at the Department of Homeland Security, where she focuses on strategies for threat prevention and counter terrorism. In addition to her work at DHS, she is currently pursuing her PhD at Oxford Brookes University in the United Kingdom on the topic “Terrorist Use of Digital Media: How New Media has Transformed Warfare.”

She joined the Presidential Transition team for DHS in September 2016. Previously, she served as President of Threat Knowledge Group, providing expertise and training to the FBI, US Army Special Forces, Marine Corps, and law enforcement. She received her Masters degree from the London School of Economics, and coedited the book “Fighting the Ideological War: Winning Strategies from Communism to Islamism.”
