Student Spotlight - Rebecca Frodsham
Rebecca Frodsham, a Northern Arizona University student, is not afraid to stand up to biased professors. A Political Science major minoring in Business, Rebecca has spoken up for her conservative ideals on occasions when various professors have tried to push their liberal agenda on students. She describes how “as a conservative, I am constantly faced with professors who believe their word is final and that they speak ‘truth.’ I always have to defend my conservative beliefs against professors and sometimes even my fellow classmates.”
Rebecca encourages other college activists by saying “conservative students do not have to be a silent minority anymore. With help from the Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute we can take back or campuses and bring unbiased education back to academia.”
Beyond the classroom, Rebecca is also a leader on campus, holding leadership positions in various conservative clubs. She is a proponent of hard work, finding inspiration in her favorite conservative woman leader, former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice. She attributes this work-ethic to her conservative family, who raised her with the value that “nothing will ever just be handed to me. I need to go out and fight for what I want.”
Rebecca also finds inspiration from the Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute; she attended CBLPI’s 2011 Woman of the Year luncheon honoring Michelle Duggar and spoke on a panel highlighting student activists at the 2012 Western Women’s Summit. Frodsham describes the 2011 Woman of the Year luncheon as “an inspiring event. I had never been around so many strong and passionate conservative women. Hearing their activism stories and all of their success inspired me to take on the liberal bias at my school.”
In ten years, Frodsham hopes to be “either working for a conservative think tank doing policy research or managing a campaign. I also hope to settle down with a nice conservative man who shares my beliefs and values.”
