Wouldn’t it be much colder, though, to not tell people you may have spread a mild or severe infection to them? I think that situation would deserve the scare quotes around ‘friend’ way more than being responsible with people’s health that you may have affected.

I wouldn’t see the person sending these cards as having a “cold, cold heart.” Rather, I would applaud them for being brave enough to warn those who may have been exposed. If you are responsible, you will not be getting one of these E-cards.

This, to me, is a warning to be careful HOW you have sex, not that you shouldn’t have sex.

Well, I’d rather them tell me then not. I’d hate to unknowingly spread something. Any decent person would use protection and get tested.
